Seán McDonagh is a Literary Translator from Birmingham, living in Milan. He is the 2024 NCW Emerging Translator Mentee for Italian.
Seán has worked with various Italian and English-language publishers and literary agencies, and has had his work published in various publications.
He is also Editor for Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, and provides foreign rights consultancy. He was a member of the committee for the Emerging Translators Network, and was a non-executive member on the board of the Poetry School.
Sean has attended the Warwick Translates Summer School, and completed various courses at the Italian Cultural Institute and the Poetry School. He is currently learning Irish with the Trailblazery’s Scoil Scairte.
